Key trends and tendencies in polish construction within the first half of 2014

1. Statistical results of the construction industry in the first half of 2014 indicates an overcoming of deep recessionary tendencies and high activity of the construction market.
2. PAB-PCR&F, the Polish Construction Research and Forecasting Institute, estimates that the total value of the Polish construction market in the first half of 2014 amounted approximately PLN 67bn, i.e. about EURO 16.1bn.
3. According to the preliminary figures by CSO, the building production of the construction companies employing more than 9 people was in 2012 by 9.8% higher than last year (in the first half of 2013 it was by 21.5% lower, y-o-y).
4. In the structure of construction output by PKD, in comparison to the previous year, the share of the construction of buildings decreased to 50.6%, while the share of the civil engineering has increased by 3.1 percentage points to 49.4%, respectively.
5. Production of building construction companies employing more than 9 people rose in 15 voivodships. The biggest, two-digits growths in the construction output was recorded in nine voivodships, the biggest – by more than 40% – in Opolskie voivodship. Decrease in production took place only in Lubelskie voivodship.
6. Construction output per 1 inhabitant in Poland completed in the first half 2014 amounted to PLN 1 741 i.e. EURO 418,36.
